Classroom Activities

Write a Riddle
Write a riddle about habits and habitats of some of the plants and animals that were found in the environment of the Sheep Eaters or of some life activity of the Sheep Eaters. Before you start, do some research about the organism or life activity that you choose. Share your riddle with your classmates to see if they can solve it.

Research Environmental Problems
There has been a drastic decline in the population of the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep in the last century. Do some research using the scientific method to find out why this decline has occurred and share your findings with your classmates.

Create a Tale
Create a tale about how you and a group of your friends might be able to survive in the type of environment that the Sheep Eaters lived in. Describe the conditions of your environment, the difficulties you would encounter, and the adaptations you would need to survive. Be sure to include the basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing. This may be done alone or as a group project.

Create a Collage
Using drawings, pictures from magazines or photographs create a collage that depicts the environment and life activities of the Sheep Eaters.
